Bring Linked Learning to SXSW EDU 2022: Vote for Scaling Equity in Health Careers

August 17, 2021

South By Southwest EDU, also known as SXSW EDU, is an annual conference that brings together a diverse array of education stakeholders to advance work in K-12, higher education, and community learning. The Alliance is excited to share our SXSW EDU session, Scaling Equity in Health Careers. This conversation will showcase how high schoolers are dismantling racial and ethnic representation disparities in healthcare careers everyday through Linked Learning college and career pathways. Research shows that these pathways increase graduation rates for students of color, many of whom go on to pursue a health-related postsecondary education.

We’ve put together a diverse panel of extraordinary education and industry leaders who have been engaged in this important work for years:

With SXSW EDU drawing over 13,000 attendees, we have the chance to demonstrate how equity-focused health pathways have impacted the journeys of young people during COVID, are rooted in their surrounding communities and workforce, and how we can bring these programs to scale - and we can’t do it without you.

You can help amplify Linked Learning at SXSW EDU 2022 by voting for Scaling Equity in Health Careers. Click here to vote "up" Scaling Equity in Health Careers by August 26, and be sure to share it with your peers and colleagues by clicking the LinkedIn/Twitter/Facebook icon under “Share This Idea” on the left hand side of the screen, and using the promotional language we drafted to share across social media. Feel free to comment on the platform anything you’d like to emphasize about the proposal, give a shout out, sing your praises - whatever feels right to you.

Please reach out to LoMo Phillips with any questions. Thank you in advance for your support, and let’s help grow Linked Learning pathways together to reach even more students nationally and scale equity in health careers in all our communities.
