The Linked Learning Alliance applauds Governor Newsom’s proposed budget for recognizing the importance of creating a student-centered education system. It sends a clear message: Providing students with a continuum of integrated supports across the educational journey is critical to ensuring success in both college and career.

Before commencing the search for the next President of the University of California, the University of California Regents requested observations and advice to inform the search process. The Linked Learning Alliance provided this testimony at a public forum at the University of California, Los Angeles on January 14.

With more than 15 years of experience as a high school teacher, principal, and leader in education networking and policy, Ryaru brings significant expertise to bear as the Alliance strives to strengthen and expand the partnerships needed to provide more students nationwide with relevant, high-impact educational experiences that lead to meaningful college and career opportunities.

As a statewide coalition of education, industry, and community organizations who share a commitment to providing students with the highest quality college and career preparation, the Linked Learning Alliance appreciates the opportunity to reflect on over a decade of Linked Learning in California and offer our feedback on the California Perkins V state plan.

This fall has been a flurry of activity and inspiration. Over the last several weeks, the Linked Learning Alliance has traveled to Antelope Valley, Long Beach, and San Bernardino to honor the first pathways in California to earn Linked Learning Gold Certification. The best part is being with communities as they gather to celebrate: educators, industry partners, elected officials working together on a shared future—and students buoyed by their support.
