Sara Mahmood

As Vice President of Communications, Sara Mahmood stewards the Alliance brand, leads organizational messaging, and cultivates key partnerships—all to drive understanding and action so that more young people gain access to Linked Learning pathways and a bright future. In Sara’s capable hands, complex topics become simpler and more meaningful. A skilled strategist, she is also adept in designing approaches that meet organizational needs and move missions forward. Prior to joining the Alliance, Sara provided strategic communications guidance as a consultant to multiple Bay Area nonprofit organizations. She held leadership roles at United Way of the Bay Area, as well as United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. She has also worked in the healthcare sector, creating communications to support vaccine development during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sara holds a bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia, where she graduated with honors.
