High school students could earn college degrees with partnership between LBCC and Browning

Future graduates at Browning High School could one day walk away with a diploma in each hand — and a head start on college or their careers.

Officials at Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach City College are in early talks to partner on bringing a middle college to Browning, allowing students to take classes that count for both high school and college credits. Depending on each student’s course load, some could receive extra credits or a certification — and even leave high school with an associate degree.
