Miya Libes is the Linked Learning Alliance's Manager, Special Projects. Prior to joining the Alliance, Miya was the program director for the Tennessee Department of Education’s Read to be Ready Summer Grant, supporting the department’s early literacy efforts through high-quality, authentic, and engaging literacy experiences for elementary students and families. Before joining TDOE, Miya was an intern with the Tennessee State Board of Education where she learned firsthand how government agencies interact and collaborate through her work with the Policy and Charter School teams. Miya was also a graduate student assistant for the National Center for Scaling Up Effective Schools supporting fieldwork and research on growth mindset and continuous improvement cycles in Fort Worth, TX high schools.
Miya attended San Francisco public schools before graduating from U.C. Santa Cruz where she received her B.A in Sociology and History of the Americas. Miya completed her M.P.P. in K–12 Education Policy from Vanderbilt University, Peabody School of Education and Human Development.
