Linked Learning Alliance Congratulates Newly-elected CA Leaders; Pledges to Work with New Administrations

The Linked Learning Alliance congratulates California Governor-elect Gavin Newsom, incoming Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis and incoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond on their successful campaigns and pledges to work with all three leaders to advance college and career success and educational justice for all California students.

“California is fortunate to have elected leaders who are passionate about improving outcomes for all students in our K-12 and postsecondary systems so that every young person has the opportunity to succeed in the 21st century,” said Anne B. Stanton, President of the Linked Learning Alliance. “The Linked Learning Alliance is ready to work with Governor-elect Newsom, incoming Lt. Governor Kounalakis, and incoming Superintendent Thurmond to increase equity in education by preparing all students to succeed in both college and career.”

The Alliance also congratulates Lupita Cortez Alcalá, the current Executive Director of the California Student Aid Commission, who was selected by Tony Thurmond to serve as the Chief Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction at the California Department of Education, and Ann O’Leary who was named as Chief of Staff for Governor Gavin Newsom.
